Archives of Don Levy and Krackerjacks Join The American Revolution Collection
The materials include photos from the store, such as the above shot of Richie Havens in 1968, and a petition circulated by Levy in response to Cambridge's attempt to ban the sale of “obscene” buttons, such as "Folk Censorship." Among the signatures on the petition are then-Harvard student (and later U.S. Senator) Jay Rockefeller and a 15-year-old Jonathan Richman, who called the button ban, “an example of lingering Victorianism.”
